Andrew is an IP attorney who embraces the world of art and design, while maintaining a firm foothold in the technical nuances of patent prosecution. Andrew maintains a substantial domestic and foreign trademark practice in industries including luxury goods, real estate, consumer electronics, social media, and government services. He also advises on IP licensing and the IP aspects of M&A, with an emphasis on the advertising industry. Andrew’s patent practice focuses on technologies such as the internet-of-things, networking and wireless communications, privacy technologies, biometric identification, physiological metrics, armored vehicles, and apparel.
Andrew was formerly in-house patent counsel to a government contractor that provided scientific, engineering, and R&D services to the US Department of Defense and foreign governments. As such, he developed a thorough understanding of the patent and data rights aspects of government contracts, as well as the IP aspects of US export controls. When he is not being a lawyer (and sometimes even when he is being a lawyer) Andrew listens to a lot of music, vigilantly roots for the Chicago Bulls, and helps artists make a living with the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
